The Albanian lek (ALL) is the official currency of Albania, issued by the Bank of Albania (Banka e Shqip\u00ebris\u00eb). At Kantor Argentarii in Warsaw you can buy lek before your trip and sell any banknotes you bring back \u2013 quickly and at the current rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are located at Grzybowska 61, in the Platinum Towers gallery \u2013 on the border of Wola and the city centre, a short walk from Rondo Daszy\u0144skiego. It is one of the few places in Warsaw where you can buy and sell Albanian lek on the spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For larger amounts we can agree a rate individually \u2013 just give us a call. Note that the National Bank of Poland publishes the lek rate only once a week (table B), so current kantor rates may differ from the latest NBP figure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How much is 1 000 ALL in z\u0142oty<\/h2>\n\n\n

At the NBP mid rate, 1 ALL = 0.0473 z\u0142 (table 037\/B\/NBP\/2026 of 16 September 2026), which means 1 z\u0142 = 21.1305 ALL.<\/p>

At the Argentarii exchange office at Grzybowska 61 we buy ALL today at 0.0470 z\u0142; selling this currency is temporarily unavailable (updated 04.09.2026, 08:56).<\/p>

How much is 100, 1000, 5000, 10,000 lek in z\u0142oty<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At the NBP mid rate from August 2026 (PLN 0.0462 per unit) 100 lek is about PLN 4.60, 1000 about PLN 46, 5000 about PLN 231 and 10,000 about PLN 462. The other way round, PLN 100 buys roughly 2170 lek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Buying and selling Albanian lek in Warsaw<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Albanian lek is an exotic currency in Poland \u2013 only a handful of exchange offices stock it. At Argentarii we both sell lek before your trip and buy banknotes back after your return from Albania. What drives the ALL\/PLN rate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The lek floats freely \u2013 its value is set by the market under the supervision of the Bank of Albania. The strongest drivers are tourism income, remittances from the large Albanian diaspora and the central bank\u2019s interest-rate decisions. In recent years the lek has strengthened noticeably against the euro, helped by record tourist seasons. The ALL\/PLN rate is usually calculated through the euro pair, so movements in the euro rate<\/a> against the z\u0142oty also affect the price of lek in Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which Albanian banknotes we accept<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Six banknote denominations are in circulation: 200, 500, 1000, 2000, 5000 and 10,000 lek\u00eb. The Bank of Albania introduced a new banknote series in 2019\u20132022; the 200 lek\u00eb note is printed on polymer. We buy notes that are in circulation and do not accept damaged ones. We do not buy coins. It is best to spend small change before you leave. A practical tip: in Albania prices are sometimes quoted informally in \u201cold lek\u201d (10 old = 1 new lek), which can be confusing on a first visit \u2013 shops and exchange offices always use new lek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How the exchange works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Check the current rate and come to Grzybowska 61. The exchange takes a few minutes: you state the amount, we confirm the board rate and pay out cash on the spot. ID is required only for transactions of EUR 15,000 equivalent or more, in line with AML regulations. The kantor is entered in the NBP register of currency-exchange offices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can reserve the online table rate for 60 minutes free of charge \u2013 just fill in the contact form<\/a> or call us. The reservation does not oblige you to exchange. We simply hold the agreed rate for an hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is it better to exchange money in Poland or in Albania?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It is worth carrying some lek for your first expenses: airport transfer, a meal, small fees. The rest can be exchanged locally, where exchange offices readily accept euros. Exchanging z\u0142oty directly in Albania can be difficult, as PLN is rarely bought there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you buy back lek after a trip to Albania?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Yes, we buy all circulating banknote denominations \u2013 from 200 to 10,000 lek\u00eb. We do not accept coins, so it is best to spend change before returning. We do not accept damaged banknotes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can I pay by card in Albania, or do I need cash?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In Tirana and the larger resorts cards are increasingly accepted, but outside the cities cash remains essential \u2013 taverns, markets and local transport are paid mainly in lek. It is best to take both a card and cash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can I pay with euros in Albania?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Euros are sometimes accepted in hotels and tourist areas, but usually at an unfavourable rate \u2013 the official currency is the lek and prices are quoted in it. Paying in lek avoids a poor conversion. You can also exchange euros for lek at our kantor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
