Our reference point is the NBP mid-rate, and the difference between it and our quote is the only cost of the exchange. We add no commission. Quotes apply to current-series banknotes in good condition; we do not price coins or damaged notes.

How much is 100, 500, 1000 Norwegian krone in złoty
At the NBP mid rate from August 2026 (PLN 0.3920 per unit) 100 Norwegian krone is about PLN 39, 500 about PLN 196 and 1000 about PLN 392. The other way round, PLN 100 buys roughly 255 krone.

Exchanging Norwegian kroner in Warsaw – how it works
A standard exchange takes a few minutes. The cashier counts the cash, verifies the banknotes and immediately pays out złoty or kroner. For transactions equal to or above the equivalent of EUR 15,000 we are required to confirm the client’s identity with an ID document – Polish AML law imposes this on every kantor. Which Norwegian banknotes we accept
We buy banknotes of the current series, issued by Norges Bank between 2017 and 2019, in denominations of 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 kroner. The series is easy to recognise by its maritime motifs: a lighthouse on the 50 kr note, the Gokstad Viking ship on the 100 kr and a cod on the 200 kr. We do not accept older series – Norges Bank has withdrawn them from circulation and they are no longer legal tender. Only the Norwegian central bank exchanges withdrawn notes; applications go directly to Norges Bank and an administrative fee may apply. We do not buy NOK coins.

What moves the Norwegian krone rate
The Norwegian krone floats freely and behaves like a commodity currency: NOK clearly reacts to oil and gas prices, which account for a large share of Norwegian exports. Norges Bank’s interest rate decisions and the EUR/NOK rate matter as well – Norway remains outside the European Union and the euro area. A practical tip: before exchanging, compare our rate with the NBP mid-rate from the same day; it is the quickest honesty test for any kantor.
Cash in Norway – will you need kroner
Norway, much like Sweden, is one of Europe’s most cashless countries – most payments go through cards and the Vipps app. Cash remains legal tender, though, and comes in handy at flea markets, small service points and anywhere a terminal might fail. A sensible plan is to exchange a moderate amount before the trip and pay by card wherever possible. We will buy back unused kroner at the current buy rate when you return – just leave the coins behind and spend them locally.

We are open seven days a week: Monday to Friday 9:00–21:00, Saturdays 10:00–20:00, Sundays 11:00–20:00. No. We only buy the 2017–2019 series with maritime motifs. Norges Bank has withdrawn earlier series from circulation and they are no longer legal tender; they can only be exchanged directly at the Norwegian central bank, under its own rules.
Can I exchange NOK coins?
No, we accept banknotes only. Polish kantors generally do not buy foreign coins, as they cannot be returned to circulation. It is best to spend coins while still in Norway – on small purchases or vending machines – or keep them as a souvenir.
Can I exchange a 1000 Norwegian kroner banknote?
Yes. We buy all denominations of the current series: 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 kroner. Like every other note, the 1000 kr banknote with the wave motif goes through standard authenticity checks at the counter. The rate is the same regardless of denomination.
