Current hryvnia to złoty rate

A kantor quotes two values: the buy rate, at which we purchase your UAH, and the sell rate, at which you buy hryvnia from us. The mid-rate published by the National Bank of Poland (NBP) is a reference point, while our counter follows live market pricing. We charge no commission, so the rate you see is the price you get.

Hryvnia pricing depends on Ukraine’s economy and on demand for UAH cash in Poland, so rates differ noticeably between exchange offices. Compare before you exchange. Our current exchange rates are published on the agkantor.pl homepage.

We buy hryvnia every day, no appointment needed. We accept all banknotes currently in circulation. The only exception is notes withdrawn from circulation by the National Bank of Ukraine, which we cannot take. Exchanging a larger amount? Call ahead and we will confirm the rate and prepare the cash.

Where to exchange hryvnia in Warsaw

Polish banks generally do not buy hryvnia cash from individual clients. The special exchange scheme run in 2022 by the NBP together with PKO BP was a temporary measure and ended long ago. That leaves kantors, and only some of them handle UAH. At Argentarii you can exchange hryvnia on the spot: the office is in the Platinum Towers gallery, a short walk from Rondo ONZ.

The hryvnia – Ukraine’s currency

The hryvnia is the official currency of Ukraine, ISO code UAH, symbol ₴. It is issued by the National Bank of Ukraine, and one hryvnia divides into 100 kopiyky. Banknotes from 20 to 1,000 hryvnias circulate alongside coins, which have gradually replaced the small paper denominations. The name goes back to the grivna, a unit of payment used in Kyivan Rus.

How much is a hryvnia in złoty

At the NBP mid rate from August 2026 (PLN 0.0834 per hryvnia) 100 hryvnias come to about PLN 8, 500 hryvnias to about PLN 42 and 1,000 hryvnias to about PLN 83. The other way round, PLN 100 buys roughly 1,200 hryvnias. Treat this purely as an illustration: the rate moves during the day, so check current pricing on our site or call before you visit.

How the exchange works

You check the rate, come in with your cash, and the cashier counts the notes in front of you and pays out złoty immediately. The whole transaction takes a few minutes. For typical amounts no document is needed; for larger transactions we will ask for an ID, as Polish anti-money-laundering law requires of exchange offices.

FAQ – hryvnia exchange in Warsaw

Can I exchange hryvnia at a bank in Poland?

In practice, no. Polish banks do not buy hryvnia cash from individual clients, and the 2022 NBP and PKO BP scheme is no longer running. You can exchange UAH cash at a kantor that carries the currency, for example Argentarii at Grzybowska 61.

How many złoty will I get for 100 hryvnias?

It depends on the current buy rate. For example, at 0.09 PLN per 1 UAH you would receive 9 PLN for 100 hryvnias and 90 PLN for 1,000. Current rates are on the agkantor.pl homepage, or you can ask by phone before visiting.

Which hryvnia banknotes do you accept?

All banknotes in circulation. The only notes we cannot take are those withdrawn from circulation by the National Bank of Ukraine. If you are not sure about your banknotes, bring them in and the cashier will verify them on the spot.

Do I need an ID to exchange hryvnia?

Not for small amounts. We ask for an ID with larger transactions, as Polish anti-money-laundering law requires. There is no fixed limit on the amount itself: the only restriction concerns banknotes withdrawn from circulation.

Can I buy hryvnia before a trip to Ukraine?

Yes, we sell hryvnia as well. UAH cash availability varies, so for a larger amount call a day ahead at +48 791 901 979. We will set the sum aside and confirm the sell rate.
